Siren with Fishes

Creator: Carl Milles
Date: 1916-1918
Medium: bronze with stone base
Notes: Depicting the mythical siren, this sculpture was originally made in Lidingo, Sweden and purchased by Lord Melchett of England. There are copies of the fountain in England, France, Sweden, and the United States. Milles commented, "I originally made this for someone to give to Stockholm, but then someone else bought it to place in a little pond before a little temple."
